AT&T: Over One Million iPhone 4S’ Activated
0
AT&T announced today that it has activated over one million iPhone 4S’s thus far, making the iPhone 4S the most successful iPhone in the AT&T’s history. This may be surprising given sharp competition from both Sprint and Verizon, both of which who have been carrying the iPhone 4S at launch, not to mention increasing competition from handsets running both Google’s Android OS as well as Microsoft’s Windows Phone 7 OS.
AT&T was the first carrier in the world to launch iPhone in 2007 and is the only U.S. carrier to support iPhone 4S with 4G speeds.
“It’s no surprise that customers are clamoring for iPhone 4S and they want it to run on a network that lets them download twice as fast as competitors’,” said Ralph de la Vega, President and CEO, AT&T Mobility & Consumer Markets.

Initial iPhone 4S reviews now available
0
Initial reviews of iPhone 4S are now available from multiple major outlets, including TechCrunch, ThisIsMyNext, AllThingsD, Wired, and more. Perhaps predictably so reviews have been very favorable, and the biggest hit with reviewers seems to be with the iPhone 4S’s exclusive new Siri feature. Wired’s review provides some interesting tidbits on multiple Siri commands:
Me: “I’m drunk.”
Siri: “I found a number of cabs fairly close to you.” (Perfect; it didn’t dial my ex-girlfriend.)
Me: “I have a flat tire.”
Siri: “I found 14 towing services. 12 of them are fairly close to you.”
Me: “Remind me to steal a ream of paper when I arrive at the office.”
Siri: “Here’s your reminder for when you get to work: Steal a ream of paper. Shall I create it?”
Me: “I’m going to kill myself.”
Siri: “I found four mental health agencies. Three of them are fairly close to you.” (This was just a test — don’t be alarmed.)
The iPhone 4S goes on sale on this Friday, October 14th for AT&T, Sprint, and Verizon in the US in both Black and White.
