[News] Sprint iPhone Owners Complaining About Slow 3G Data Speeds

0

As Macrumors is now reporting, there is now a fairly long thread developing over at the Sprint support forums, where iPhone owners are reporting issues, mainly of the “my iPhone’s 3G data connection is soo slow” variety…

One upset iPhone 4S owner took to the forums, armed with a screenshot of a Speedtest.net report which clearly shows his download speed of 0.16Mbps. While the immediate thought is that perhaps there is an issue with reception in his area, or maybe a faulty mast, it appears his other phone isn’t suffering from the same issue.

“This is the speedtest screen capture I did on my brand new iPhone 4S.  As you can see, I got .016Mbps down and 0.05Mbps up.  For those of you want to say maybe the network is just slow in my area.  I did the same test with Samsung Epic Touch with 4G turned off at the same spot.  It’s 3 times faster.  Is sprint crippling iPhone data rate, or there is something wrong with iPhone CDMA radio itself.”

So what do you think? Was Sprint getting the iPhone a bad idea?

Could we see an iCloud version of the iPhone?

0

Could an “iCloud iPhone” be coming this fall? According to multiple sources via ApplenApps.com (http://bit.ly/icloudiphone), this would be an iPhone 4-based device with less onboard storage (probably 8GB) and a much-lower price – FREE w/2-yr contract and $399 without … the back panel would be aluminum a la iPod Touch, and it would rely on streamed music/video via iCloud … so how does this sound to you? Tell us in the comments below!

[BREAKING] Mac OS X Lion being prepared for Wednesday Launch!

2

Mac OS X Lion

The new version of Apple’s Mac OS X Lion will be available in Apple Stores this coming Wednesday (July, 20th) . Equipped with a hard drives and newly installed operating systems (OS), Apple employees will be preparing the software Tuesday night. The Apple Care support personnel have been equipping themselves with the basics of the new OS, having installed programs on their own PC’s. The new Mac OS X Lion software is worth $29.99. Displayed at showroom floor computers, the Lion software is ready for use after it has been released just this month. Installed with 250 new features, the Lion software has newly installed full screen support applications, touch gestures, system resume, a “Launchpad”  program and much more.

Mac App Store: Only Way To Upgrade

Although no exact release date was previously announced, Apple did say that it will be released sometime in July. Announced in early June at the Worldwide Developers Conference,  Apple has decided that the only way to upgrade will be through their Mac App Store. Behind this decision lies the status of their very own software, whether it will be a hit to users or not. Apple said that it is the only way to upgrade the software besides buying a Mac with the OS already installed. Furthermore, the software is said to be the top software of the Mac OS. The other versions of the software have escaped the use of an optical disk. Going to Apple’s app store would be the first thing to do to be updated on their newly introduced software, OS X Lion. Part of the company’s trick to attract customers is offering free Wi-Fi. For those who are bothered by the 4GB download, they can use Apple’s Wi-Fi gadgets.
